In the process, they became the first ever Iraqi side to win any AFC tournament. The triumph meant a lot for a country which has been war plagued for so many years.
The win comes as a gush of fresh air for the players the citizens of Iraq. Bengaluru FC, on the other hand, have to return empty handed after displaying a spirited performance against the Iraqis.
