Manchester, Sep 10: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has clearly stated that he is disappointment with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's false claims and allegations against him, which the star footballer wrote in his book 'I am Zlatan'. [Pep plays down Mourinho rivalry] [EPL: Schedule of Game week 4]
A day before the Manchester derby, excerpts from Zlatan's book came to limelight. The striker had lambasted Guardiola.
Ibrahimovic had played under Pep Guardiola at FC Barcelona but as we know the two shared a very high tension relationship.
Ibrahimovic, in his book wrote about how Pep could face him and speak in front of him while he was at Nou Camp. He called the Spanish manager a 'coward' and 'spineless' and also hailed his current manage Jose Mourinho.
While Zlatan's book created quite a stir in England just a day before the big derby, Pep too did not hesitate to express his disappointment over the player's comments.
At the pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "Ibrahimovic used his book to explain what he believes, he had some things to say.
"Always I was clear. Whatever I said to him I spoke face to face. I never used the media to explain what I wanted from him on the pitch."
After venting his frustration for sometime, the City manager did not miss out on praising the striker. He also said he admires Zlatan for what he has done for the game.
He further added: "I have a lot of respect for Zlatan and what he has done in the football world and his career.
"He has had a big impact everywhere he has been and he is an amazing talent, one of the best around. The best players always have an impact.
"The big players always bring their talent to a club immediately. You can see they don't need time to adapt to a new league or understand another country."
Saturday's (September 10) Manchester derby will witness several clashes, most prominently Zlatan Ibrahimovic Vs Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho Vs Pep Guardiola.
