However, manager Guardiola has now admitted that they are not yet finished in the market and still want to make as many as four more summer signings, strengthening an interest in Real Madrid right-back Danilo.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirms more signing

He remained coy on the progress for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez and Monaco full-back Benjamin Mendy but gave input about the situation of Real's Brazilian right back.

"We have many options for people, players coming, but until the deal is done out of respect for the other clubs I cannot say absolutely anything,'' the City boss said.

"But (Danilo) is one option we have.

"I said he's a player from Real Madrid, so we are talking with not too much players but three or four players to try, if possible, to join us for not only the next season but the next three, four, five years because all of them are so, so young players.

"We need that, refresh with the spirit of the new players. It is good for them, for the old players like Vincent (Kompany) and the other ones here in the club.

"It is going to help us to rebuild a little bit more the club and we'll see."

City reportedly missed out on Dani Alves, who opted to join Paris Saint-Germain instead after leaving Juventus on a free transfer. And with Guardiola demanding two right-backs after leaving out Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna, the deal could see the green light as soon as possible.

Premier league winners Antonio Conte is also believed to be targeting the full-back however recent reports have suggested that the Manchester side are currently having the upper hand in the deal.

The Brazil international joined Real from Porto in a €31.5m deal from FC Porto two years ago and has won two Champions league and one league title with them, however, mostly spent his time in the Spanish capital as the understudy of first choice right-back Dani Carvajal.
