Reports are suggesting that Chelsea have seen their £17 million bid for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio knocked back by the Italian champions but reports claim the Serie A heavyweights could accept a £25 million offer.

Conte, being the former manager of Juventus, is familiar to the qualities of the 31-year-old Italian international and should well-aware of how he can change the dimension of the Blues' midfield.

As per the report, Claudio Marchisio is deemed surplus to requirements at the Juventus Stadium as Massimiliano Allegri seeks to bolster his midfield in the summer.

The Juventus boss has just signed an extension at the Turin club and is looking to strengthen in all areas to make Juventus a feared force in Europe and Marchisio, a long-term servant of the club could become a casualty.

Marchisio has been a one-club man so far in his career but it now looks increasingly likely that he will not remain the same.

The 31-year-old would be an invaluable addition to the London club thanks to his immense experience.

The 31-year-old has featured 362 times for Juventus till date and has been a pivotal member of the Italian national team for quite a long time.

He shares a brilliant working relationship with now Chelsea boss Conte and would add a lot to the Chelsea side.

The Italian midfield maestro has struggled for opportunities this campaign having managed to feature just 15 times for the club this season and a major portion of that has been from the bench.

£25m is not particularly a big fee nowadays for a player of Marchisio's calibre and Chelsea fans should be quite happy if this deal indeed takes place.
