Even after such praises from all quarters, the ATK custodian Debjit Majumder's down-to-earth attitude and behavior hasn't changed a bit.

Despite losing game against Atletico de Kolkata (ATK), Florent Malouda - the former World cup player for France - was mighty impressed with Majumdar's outstanding show under the bars.

The Delhi Dynamos marquee footballer (Malouda) said, “We lost to the goalkeeper of our opposition team today."

This appreciation was added by another legendary former World Cup star Theirry Henry, who after watching ATK's match against Mumbai City FC, said “Both the goalkeepers of ATK and Mumbai City FC were actually the man-of-the match."

Even after such praises from all quarters, the ATK custodian Majumder's down-to-earth attitude and behavior hasn't changed a bit.

While speaking over phone on Thursday (Oct 27), Debjit seemed to be annoyed, at first, when he was asked whether his life had changed after being branded as a star.

The goalkeeper replied saying, "Do you know, since morning today, I was talking to those people who know me since childhood. I received phone calls from a few other goalkeepers who play for the lower division clubs of Kolkata football league, as we train together. I am the same to them. So, it is media which is trying to give me a tag of 'so called star'. I am also the same person I was a couple of years back."

Today, ATK will now face NorthEast United FC where they will have to beat the 'spider man' of Indian football, Subrata Paul. Paul too is very consistent in the ongoing tournament.

When asked about the battle among goalkeepers, Debjit avoided the issue saying,"Not at all as it will always be eleven versus eleven."

The custodian however quipped, “I am not at all satisfied with my performance so far. I have to improve a lot."

His attitude to learn always impresses country's another top footballer, Gurpreet Singh.
