Bengaluru, Feb 9: The Indian football team has dropped one place to 130th in the latest FIFA men's football rankings released on Thursday, February 9.
India had achieved their highest FIFA ranking in the last 10 years, 129 a month back. Due to lack of international game time Stephen Constantine's men have dropped by one place making way for Suriname.
As confirmed by the AIFF today, India will play a friendly match against 175th ranked Cambodia in March as preparation for their AFC Asian Cup 2019 qualifiers.
India are placed in Group A in the qualification group stage alongside Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar and Macau. They will play their first match on March 28.
The top 5 in the FIFA rankings remain unchanged with Argentina leading the charts followed by rivals Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium.
France goes up to 6th position replacing Colombia who falls to 7th position.
Cameroon has taken the biggest leap in FIFA rankings, 29 places to move to 33rd and Cote d'Ivoire has gone down by 13 places to 47th.
