The golden ball winner in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa also explained saying, “There are several footballers from Honduras, Salvador who have been consistently performing in La Liga. Even our country does not have infrastructure and financial strength like European countries. Still, we have defeated European countries several times. The mental strength is the key ingredient."

Asked whether impressed by any Indian footballer so far in the League, Forlan remarked, “Surely, I have observed a couple of players in my team who are truly qualitative. Especially Jeje Lalpekhua, CK Vineeth has been impressive to me. Both of them have control, shooting ability as well as they know how to play off-the-ball-game."

Forlan also had praise for Sunil Chettri and Pranoy Halder. The Uruguay World Cupper, especially praising for Pranoy said, “He has exceptional quality. He has only thing to do that he will have to think about football when he will not even train."

Forlan is hopeful that under-17 World Cup, to be held in India next year will create a lot of enthusiasm among the young generation of footballers in this country.

“Under-17 World Cup should produce high quality footballers in India in near future."
