English Premier League game week 16: Roundup and results

Bengaluru, Dec 15: English Premier League game week 16 ended last night with Chelsea holding onto their top position in the league table.

The Blues defeated Sunderland last night thanks to a sweet strike from Cesc Fabregas in the first half. They extend their winning streak to 13 matches and have 40 points from 16 games.

Liverpool thrashed Middlesbrough 3-0 courtesy a brace from Adam Lallana. Divock Origi scored the other goal to guide The Reds to a comfortable win.

The three points have placed Liverpool in the second place ahead of Arsenal in goal difference. Arsenal conceded an unfortunate 2-1 defeat against Everton on Wednesday, December 14.

Manchester City returned to winning ways as they defeated Watford 2-0. They remain in the 4th position with 33 points.

Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 thanks to goals from Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
