Initially, there were speculations that Juan Mata may not feature in Mourinho's team list in the EFL Cup final as the Spaniard did not travel with the team to London.
But later it was learned that Mata had gone to Spain for some personal work and will join the team directly.
Jose Mourinho will miss the services of crucial players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Michael Carrick due to injuries. Which makes Mata's entry into the starting XI even more clear.
More or less, the manager is likely to retain the same starting XI from last week's win against Watford, which they had won 2-0.
No changes are expected in the Southampton starting. Claude Puel will field the strongest possible XI and pick up a win in the final and get their hands on the coveted trophy.
