Plaza, elated after having scored two excellent goals on Wednesday in the I-League match, revealed that Shah Rukh Khan is extremely popular in Caribbean Island.

Plaza said: “We are simply mad about Shah Rukh in our country. The people in Trinidad & Tobago have seen each of his films, released so far.

"Even on Tuesday, the day before our I-League match against Mumbai FC, I did not miss to see his latest film Raees. I went to see the movie along with teammate Robin Singh."

But Plaza has a regret that he has not yet got an opportunity to talk to his celluloid hero. He added: “I had a great opportunity last year when Shah Rukh went to Trinidad & Tobago for the promotion of his film.

"I could have talked to him. But unfortunately, we were having national preparatory camp at the same time. So I missed the chance."

Plaza informed he got offers from other Indian clubs also to play in I-league this season. Still, he chose the Kolkata outfit due to one key reason.

He said: “Sunil Narine, the West Indian off-spinner is my childhood friend. He plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

"The team is owned by Shah Rukh. So after having observed my fanaticism on Shah Rukh my spinner friend suggested me to choose any of the Kolkata giants as playing in Kolkata I would have an opportunity again to meet Shah Rukh."

This was the reason Plaza accepted east Bengal's proposal don their shirts immediately. He revealed that he has already made request Narine to get him introduced with King Khan when IPL will be on and KKR will play in Kolkata this season.
