It has been confirmed that Massimiliano Allegri has signed a contract extension at Juventus which will keep him at the Turin club until 2020 with the option for an additional year.

Fan favourite Allegri has not let his fans down at Turin as he has committed his long-term future to the Serie A giants despite being courted by giants like Barcelona and Arsenal.

It is believed that Juventus hierarchy are a fan of Allegri and they are letting him continue his legacy at the club.

Allegri took the job at the Old Lady when now Chelsea manager Antonio Conte left for the Italian national team job and has built on his predecessor's success.

During Allegri's reign, Juventus' monopoly in Italian football has grown much stronger and on top of that, they have been pretty good in Europe as well.

In his first season, Allegri guided Juventus to the Champions League final and this season they are once again in the semis and many are considering them favourites for the biggest prize in Europe this time.

At Juventus, Allegri is often considered as the new Marcello Lippi, a club icon in the making.

Both Arsenal and Barcelona looked to be in the hunt for new managers next season and quite understandably, Allegri was one of the top candidates in both the clubs' shortlists.

This news will certainly be a major blow for both the clubs while Juventus fans have every reason to be happy about this.

It is now understood that Arsene Wenger could continue at Arsenal for another season or probably two more seasons even though he has lost most of the fans' support.

On the other hand, Barcelona are also looking for a suitable replacement for Luis Enrique. As of now, they have to look elsewhere.
