Kolkata, Nov 19: Chennai FC have become the third soccer team to bid for direct entry into I-League, sources close to the development confirmed on Saturday.
On the last scheduled day for picking up bid documents, Chennai FC showed interest to be part of India's premier club competition.
Chennai FC play the local league and, as learned, are backed by a top media company.
Earlier, Chandigarh based club Minerva Academy FC and FC Bardez had picked up forms to be part of the league starting January 7 next year.
The decision will be taken on November 23.
