The rumor was roaming around the Mohun Bagan Club as well as around the corner of Indian football. But on Tuesday, assistant general secretary of Mohun Bagan Club gave hint saying, “Our talks are going on with several big corporate houses. Even the news of talks with Sharukh khan is also there. But unless we are not allowed to take part in the Indian Super League all these talks have no justification.”
Along with the preliminary discussions with King Khan, it has been learnt that Mohun Bagan Club’s top brass is also in a discussion with a Pune-based leading corporate house.
According to the All India Football Federation, chances for both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan to take part in the Indian Super League (ISL) in the 2017-18 seem to be bright.
And at the same time, it was also a fact that King Khan wanted to buy a football team based in Kolkata along with having bought Kolkata Knight Riders before ISL began.
But according to sources, the superstar did not move further after having a few discussions with IMG, the company that organizes the franchise league.
But at the same time, the clubs like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal which have chance to join the ISL in near future, will also have to pay Rs 15 crores as entry fee. And it has also been learnt that the clubs are not willing to pay the entry fees.
So, in a latest development, it has been learnt from the All India Football federation that the IMG itself is in an effort to bring financial support of a big corporate house for these two Kolkata giants so that in near future these clubs do not have to face difficulty in participating in the ISL.
