Zurich (Switzerland), Dec 18: World champions Germany have ended the year 2014 as the No. 1 ranked football team.
The latest World Rankings were released by FIFA today and Germany, with 1,725 points have been confirmed as the top side.
Germany, coached by Joachim Low, won the World Cup, their 4th title, this year by beating Argentina 1-0 in Brazil.
Argentina have ended the year as the No. 2 team in the world while Colombia are 3rd, followed by Belgium.
Netherlands have occupied the 5th place while Brazil are at 6th position. Former World No. 1 Spain are 9th. Uruguay complete the top-10 table. There is no change in the places from 1 to 23 from the previous update.
There is no Asian side in the top-50 of the rankings. Iran are the highest ranked Asian outfit with 51 while Japan are 54th. India are ranked 171, one place down from the previous updated table. The rankings table will be updated next on 8 January 2015.
