Fifa World Cup 2014: Chile vs Australia preview

Cuiabá (Brazil), June 13: Chile and Australia are certainly the two weaker teams in Group B of the 2014 Fifa World Cup, the top two being holders Spain and 2010 finalists Holland.

However, that is not to say that the match between the two teams will be of no interest. Just like their geographical locations, the two teams have hugely contrasting styles of play.

FIFA WORLD CUP RANKINGS: CHILE: 14, AUSTRALIA: 62

Schedule; News; Photos; Points Table

Chile will be the favourites in the match as it is said to be the best Chilean side of all time. The Latin American side's superior skills were appreciated when they beat England 2-0 in their own den last November. However, like as always, can Chile convert their potential into goals?

The injury of Arturo Vidal, will, however, be a worry for the Chilean team.

Chile look favourites to win the match against Australia

Australia, on the other hand, are undergoing a transition. The 0-6 drubbing that they got against France in a friendly last October led to unfriendly consequences for the former coach Holger Osieck and he was replaced by Ange Postecoglou. But can he turn things around for the Socceroos who have won just two of their 10 games at three World Cups? Mile Jedinak besides Tim Cahill will be Australia's main hope.

The match will begin at Arena Pantanal at 2.30 am IST.

Teams:

Chile (Possible, 3-4-3): Bravo; Jara, Medel, Gonzalez; Isla, Vidal, Diaz, Beausejour; Sanchez, Vargas, Fernandez. Coach: Jorge Sampaoli

Australia (Possible, 4-3-3): Ryan; Franjic, Spiranovic, McGowan, Davidson; Milligan, Jedinak, Bresciano; Halloran, Cahill, Oar. Coach: Ange Postecoglou
