London, Aug 22: Game week 2 of English Premier League saw some exciting clashes featuring all the 20 teams. [EPL 2016-17: Full schedule for the month of August]
On Friday night, Manchester United took on Southampton at Old Trafford. It was Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho's first Premier League game at the Theatre of Dreams.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace which helped his side to register yet another win in the Premier League.
In the second match of game week 2, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City thrashed Mark Hughes Stoke City 4-1 at their home. Stoke were no match for Guardiola's men as Sergio Aguero and Nolito's brace in either half sealed the fate of the game.
Liverpool played brilliant football the previous week as they defeated Arsenal 4-3 to kick-start their campaign. Things changed drastically within a week as Klopp's red army succumbed to defeat against Burnley.
Chelsea faced Watoford on Saturday and after conceding a goal in the first half, Conte's side cameback in the dying moments of the match when Michy Batshuayi and Diego Costa netted one each to confirm their three points.
Arsenal were held for a dull 0-0 draw by reigning champions Leicester City at the Kingpower stadium. The Gunners clearly were the more dominant side but that did not help them to pick up full three points.
