Madrid, (Spain) April 9: Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 300th Real Madrid goal as the European champions remained four points behind of La Liga leaders Barcelona with a 2-0 win at Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.
Real Madrid had thrashed Granada 9-1, three days ago when Ronaldo netted five goals, the European champions needed a win at Rayo's Vallecas stadium after Barcelona beat Almeria to a 4-0 home victory.
The three points win against Rayo Vallecano for Real Madrid kept them four points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, who had earlier beaten Almeria 4-0 at the Camp Nou on Wednesday (April 8, 2015). Real Madrid, now has 70 points and are second in the La Liga standings.
The Portugal forward, five clear of Lionel Messi at the top of the scoring chart, is the third player after Raul (323) and Alfredo Di Stefano (307) to reach 300 goals for Real, but has needed only 288 matches, compared with Raul's 741 and Argentine great Alfredo Di Stefano's 396.
The current Ballon d'Or winner has scored 214 La Liga goals, 60 Champions League goals, 21 Copa del Rey, 3 in Supercopa del Espana and 2 in the European Super Cup.
