Mithali Raj-led side will face England in the final of the ICC Women's World Cup 2017 title clash on Sunday (July 23) at Lord's Cricket Ground.
Ahead of the final, Sehwag took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to praise the women and hoped they would bring the trophy home.
"Our girls achieved what our men could not. Our men's team exited the ICC World Cup 2015 losing to Australia in semi-finals but our women defeated Australia, which was a strong contender, in the semi-final," Sehwag said in a video message posted on his Twitter page on Saturday.
"I was thrilled to watch Indian women defeat Australia. I hope they will repeat the performance and win the final and make India proud. All the very best," he added.
Our girls always make us proud. Wishing them the best for tomorrow's finals.
