WC 2015: India extend their lead over Zimbabwe, make it 8-1

Bengaluru, March 3: Defending champions India beat Zimbabwe by 6 wickets in their final group match at Auckland on Saturday. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina put on 196 runs for the 5th wicket to give India their 10th consecutive victory in World Cup cricket.

India and Zimbabwe have met 8 times at the World Cup since 1983 when the latter had made their debut at the prestigious tournament. India have a 7-1 advantage over their African rivals. It was in their second encounter at the World Cup when Kapil Dev's magnificent innings of 175 not out had rescued India from 17 for 5.
