WC 2015: India & Australia have met 11 times in WC, Aus lead 8-3

Sydney, March 18: Defending champions India lost to former champions Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground here on Thursday. While India hammered Bangladesh by 109 runs in the quarter-final at Melbourne, Australia beat Pakistan by 6 wickets at Adelaide.

This was the 11th meeting between the two teams with Australia winning 8 of them, including two 1-run victories. The two sides had also met in the final of the 2003 edition which Australia had won by 125 runs.
