Kolkata, April 13: Peeping into someone's personal life can put you into trouble.

Former Indian Cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar embroiled himself into a social media controversy when he cheekily asked Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli, "is she here?", in an apparent reference to his girlfriend and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, on Saturday, April 11. Even though Gavaskar's lighter-vein question left audience in cheering mode, Twitterati did not spared Gavaskar.

It can be recalled that on Friday, April 10, Kohli had lashed out at people for blaming Anushka for Indian team's performance in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia. [Virat Kohli says he is 'very sad' and 'hurt' by comments after World Cup exit]

"The stuff that happened after the World cup semifinal, the way people reacted towards my personal life and Anushka in particular, was really disrespectful.
