Virat Kohli reaches 11 million followers on Twitter, thanks fans for support

New Delhi, June 10: Team India's numero uno batsman and Test skipper, Virat Kohli, has set another milestone, this time off the field.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore captain now has 11 million followers on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The prolific Indian batter's popularity on social media is growing at a record pace as the the Delhi-lad has left India's limited-overs captain MS Dhoni way behind.

Kohli, who has emerged as the backbone of Indian batting line-up, is only behind his idol and cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar has 11.10 million followers on Twitter.

Kohli joined Twitter in September 2009 while Tendulkar's account is active since April 2010.

After hitting the 11 million followers mark and tweeted about it with a selfie.

"A big thank you to all 11 Million on Twitter. Your support and love means a lot. Grateful always," tweeted Kohli.
