Canberra, Jan 20: India's star batsman Virat Kohli struck his second consecutive ODI century against Australia to draw level with Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara.
At the Manuka Oval here on Wednesday (January 20), Kohli brought up his 25th century in ODIs to become joint 4th in the all-time list headed by batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli hit a 84-ball ton today.
The 27-year-old Kohli is also the fastest to 25 ODI tons, in his 162nd innings. Today's three-figure knock is his 15th batting second.
Tendulkar is the leader in most ODI century-makers list with 49. Australia's Ricky Ponting is second with 30 followed by Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka with 28.
In the last game at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on January 17 (Sunday), Kohli became the fastest to score 24 ODI tons. In the same game, he became the quickest to score 7,000 ODI runs.
