New Delhi, March 15: Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Jharkhand raced into the semi-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy after trouncing Vidarbha by six wickets in the quarter-finals here at the Palam Ground on Wednesday (March 15).
MS Dhoni, known as the best match-finisher in the world, finished off things in style for his state team by getting the winning runs with a six.
Chasing an easy target of 160 in the premier domestic one-dayer match, Dhoni and his boys reached home in 45.1 overs.
Openers Pratyush Singh (33 off 54 balls) and Ishan Kishan (33 off 65 balls) gave Jharkhand a solid start in their run chase as they put up a 68-run opening stand.
Later Ishank Jaggi (41*) and Dhoni (18*) took the side home without further hiccups.
Kumar Deobrat (17 in 35 deliveries) and Saurabh Tiwary (17 in 29 balls) were the other two wickets lost by Jharkhand.

Earlier, Dhoni's boys restricted Faiz Fazal and company to a paltry 159/9 in the stipulated 50 overs. RL Jangid (62 off 87 balls) and Ganesh Satish (35 off 54 deliveries) were the top scorers for Vidarbha.
Other Vidarbha batsmen couldn't do any further damage to a disciplined bowling line-up, perfectly utilised by a seasoned campaigner like Dhoni, who is most successful Indian captain across all format.
Congratulations to #Supergiant's & captains of both squads @msdhoni & @tiwarymanoj for leading their teams into the #VijayHazare Semis. 👏🙌

Besides being Jharkhand's unofficial mentor in the Ranji Trophy, Dhoni has been an active member of the Vijay Hazare squad, captaining the side in all the seven matches so far.
Dhoni, who hit the winning runs in the previous against J and K at Kalyani, has displayed decent form in the tournament, highlighted with a 129 against Chattisgarh at the Eden Gardens last month.
He will now lead his side, that was a semi-finalist in the Ranji Trophy 2016-17, in the semi-finals.
