The "Valentine" unveiled by the cricketer is a brand new car - a red Ford Mustang. Karun, on Thursday (February 16) tweeted the picture of his new automobile with the caption "My Valentine".

Apart from being expensive (costs more than Rs 66 lakh), the car is making headlines for a unique number plate "KA 03 NA 303".

"KA" stands for Karnataka, the state where the vehicle is registered. "NA" is the first two letters of Nair and Karun has opted for it. "03" is his 3rd Test innings when he hit a triple ton. And 303 is his highest Test score, a historic number in the annals of Indian cricket.

It is learnt that Karun paid Rs 75,000 for getting this number from Bengaluru's Indiranagar Regional Transport Office (RTO). "NA" series is still not in use and according to RTO officials, Karun paid the prescribed fees to get this in "advanced series" category.

Karun, who was dropped from the Playing XI for the one-off Test against Bangladesh recently, will be hoping to make the cut in the 4-match series against Australia starting in Pune on February 23. He is part of the 16-man squad led by Virat Kohli.
