On Tuesday, Hughes was hit on the head by a Sean Abbott bouncer at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) during South Australia-New South Wales four-day game. Hughes was taken to hospital and later had a surgery. He is in an induced coma.
The Indian Test team, which is in Australia, was playing a two-day practice match in Adelaide when the incident happened. India play Australia in a four-Test series starting December 4 in Brisbane.
India batsman Virat Kohli took to Twitter to wish Hughes and asked him to "fight it out".
"Thoughts and prayers with Phil Hughes all the way. Fight it out mate. You are a top man. All the strength goes out to you and your family," Kohli tweeted.
Later in the day, Team India released a statement wishing Hughes.
Here is the full statement

We join with the rest of the cricket community around the world to offer our support and prayers to Phil and his family as well as our friends within Australian Cricket."
