Lauderhill, Aug 29: Legendary India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was denied entry by the security guards during the second T20 International match between India and West Indies at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in USA.
The former skipper and an ex-BCCI president had an unpleasant experience as security guards failed to recognise him and stopped him from entering into the stadium.
The cricket fans gathered outside the stadium even tried to tell the security personnel about who he was, but the guards were not convinced with the their pleas and stuck to their decision.
One of the enthusiastic cricket fan, who witnessed the scene outside the stadium, took to Twitter to share that the security said, "SMG's minder was pissed. "Do you know who he is?! He needs to be inside." Security: "I don't care who the hell he is, he ain't gettin in!"
Standing outside gate being denied entry again as India team is here. I feel better today though because they're denying Sunny Gavaskar too.— Peter Della Penna (@PeterDellaPenna) August 28, 2016
The security standards in the USA is very strict especially when it comes to public areas. Cricket is still in budding stage in the US, hence, there is no surprise if the security personnel failed to recognise 'Little Master'.

Gavaskar was cool about it. He passed the time taking selfies with fans outside the gate until India team bus left and we were allowed in.— Peter Della Penna (@PeterDellaPenna) August 28, 2016
He was allowed into the stadium after Team India deboarded from their bus and entered in the park.
