Stuart Binny is 'the best seam all-rounder in India': MS Dhoni

When India's final 15 for ICC World Cup 2015 was announced by the Sandeep Patil-led selection committee, many were surprised to see Binny's name.

Stuart Binny will be happy to have got his captain's backing

Fans and experts questioned the right-hand all-rounder's inclusion ahead of the experienced Yuvraj Singh and batsmen like Robin Uthappa and Murali Vijay.

Yesterday, head coach Duncan Fletcher gave reasons for Binny's selection in the World Cup line-up and today it was the turn of the skipper to back his all-rounder.

Talking ahead of India's tri-series opener against Australia in Melbourne, Dhoni touched upon the team composition for the World Cup.

"We are playing a few games in Perth and New Zealand, where we felt the last time that there wasn't much purchase for the spinners," Dhoni said on Saturday.

"That's where Stuey (Stuart Binny) may come in. Irrespective of all the debate, the best seam all-rounder in India has been picked. He is an exciting player - he bats aggressively and is a good bowler. If he gives me six to eight overs it's more than enough," Dhoni added.
