This was Dhoni's 100th victory as India captain in ODIs. He is only the third skipper and first Indian in ODI history to achieve this.

Also today, Dhoni recorded his 11th World Cup win in a row as India's captain. Today's was 7th success on the trot in the current tournament while he had 4 in 2011 World Cup which culminated in lifting the trophy in Mumbai.
Dhoni was appointed as India's ODI captain in 2007. He is the only skipper in cricket history to have won all three ICC trophies - Twenty20 World Championship (2007), World Cup (2011) and Champions Trophy (2013).
