Bengaluru, Dec 16: Australian spin legend Shane Warne today unveiled his "greatest ever Indian Test team", with Sourav Ganguly as captain.
Stating that it was "the hardest team to select", 46-year-old Warne revealed the names on his Facebook page on Wednesday (December 16).
"As promised, here's my greatest ever Indian test team. Remember I had to play against them......," Warne wrote on his Facebook page.
The 12-man side has Ganguly as the skipper and MS Dhoni at No. 8. However, VVS Laxman was placed at 12th after Warne admitted it was tough to choose between him and Mohammad Azharuddin, both from Hyderabad.
There are 7 former captains in the line-up - Dravid, Tendulkar, Ganguly, Azharuddin, Kapil Dev, Dhoni and Anil Kumble.
"This was the hardest team to select as I played against a few legends at the end of their careers like Vengsarkar, Sanjay Manjreker, Ravi Shastri, Manoj Prabhakar as well as current players like Zaheer Khan too," Warne, who took 708 wickets in 145 Tests, wrote.
"The Indian side I've selected is a very strong one and would be tough to play against. The hardest position to select for me was the number 6 spot between my great friend VVS (Laxman) or Azzha (Azharuddin), depending on the conditions who would actually play at number 6 & what country the game was played in, hence I named 12 & would choose the 12th man on the day ! Look forward to your feedback," he added.
