India's batting legend Sachin Tendulkar played in a record 6 World Cups and won the coveted trophy in 2011 on his home ground - Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
Tendulkar retired from international cricket last year but his World Cup record for most number of runs is set to stand for a long time.
As we count down to the next edition of the World Cup, which starts in less than 90 days (February 14, 2015), in Australia and New Zealand, here is the list of Top-10 batsmen with most runs in World Cup history.
Tendulkar leads the pack with 2,278 runs from 45 matches. All the batsmen in the Top 10 chart have retired and among the current players nobody is close to emulating Tendulkar, at least in the 2015 edition. Among active cricketers, Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara is way behind with 991 runs.
