New Delhi, July 19: Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday (July 19) was slammed on micro-blogging site Twitter after news reports claimed he tried to save business ally's 'illegal' resort in Mussoorie.
As per an ET report, Tendulkar, who is Rajya Sabha MP, had sought Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's help to rescue a plush holiday retreat in Landour, Mussoorie, from a security dispute with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
The property in question is Dahlia Bank in the Landour cantonment area that has allegedly breached the 50-foot, no-construction zone next to the Institute of Technology Management, a sensitive DRDO establishment.
Sachin is a frequent visitor of this holiday destination during summer season and it is partly owned by Tendulkar's business partner Sanjay Narang, said the report.
No sooner than this report was published Twitterati took to slam the legendary cricketer for misusing his influence. Some even blamed the VVIP culture in prevalent in the country.
