Bengaluru, Nov 12: Indian batsman Rohit Sharma yesterday (November 11) underwent a succusseful surgery on his right thigh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Saturday (November 12).
Rohit 'badly injured'
Rohit, who was ruled out of the ongoing home Test series against England due to injury, had to undergo a surgery in a London hospital on Friday. He will be discharged today. The batsman tweeted a picture last night from hospital bed.
"All went well. Thank you for your good wishes. Can't wait to be back at it," Rohit tweeted.
"The medical team of the BCCI confirms that India batsman Rohit Sharma underwent a surgery on his right thigh on Friday, November 11, 2016 in London. The procedure was successful and Rohit will be discharged from the hospital in the next 24 hours," BCCI said in a media advisory.
"BCCI medical team is constantly monitoring his treatment and will oversee his recovery, towards becoming match fit," it added.
Rohit suffered an injury on his right thigh in the 5th ODI against New Zealand on October 29, 2016 at Visakhapatnam.
