Record: India complete series wins against all Test teams

Rahul remained undefeated on 51 while Rahane was not out on 38. Fittingly, it was Rahul who hit the winning runs, guiding a delivery from left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe to the on-side. ()

Needing 106 runs for the win, the Indians reached the target around 90 minutes and 17.5 overs into the first session of the fourth day.

After winning the decider in Dharamsala, India were awarded the ICC Test mace and a prize money of $ 1 million for finishing this season at the top.

With the series win against Australia, India, now, have become only the third cricketing side to hold series titles against all Test playing nations at the same point of time.

Australia and South Africa were the first two teams to have claimed this feat.

Australia had achieved this feat first time when they defeated India in 2004-05 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and once again after winning the Ashes 2006-07. South Africa, on the other hand, touched this feat after they defeated Australia in 2012-13.

Tuesday (March 28), was the fourth such occasion when India came from behind to clinch a Test series after losing the opening game.

The Virat Kohli-led Indian side lost the first Test against Steve Smith's men in Pune but went on to win the Bengaluru Test, Ranchi Test ended in a draw and registered a win in Dharamsala to reclaim the series.

Earlier in 1972-73 India defeated England after going down in the opening Test. They did it for the second time during 2000-01 Test series against Australia and also during Test series against Sri Lanka in 2015.
