Looking at Team India's fabulous performance Down Under in the second half of the tour, veteran cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Sunil Gavaskar have expressed confidence over India's prospects in the upcoming world championship, which will be held in India.

Reasons why Team India should win WT20

Everyone is of the view that the balanced side, MS Dhoni and Co is looking into, will exploit the home conditions very well and pose a threat to any side. (Team India favourites for World T20; West Indies can pose threat: Lara)

Here are 6 reasons why Team India should win the upcoming T20 World tournament:

Inform trio of Rohit-Shikhar-Kohli:

Indian top order comprising Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli is in prime form and gave the much needed start Team needed all through the Australia tour. The top guns of Rohit-Shikhar-Kohli have all exploded in the new year and all are looking in sublime form.

If Rohit Sharma was the man of the series in ODI series, it was Virat Kohli who dominated Australian bowlers in all 3 T20 games and scored a fifty in each game. Shikhar gave Australian bowlers a run for their money in the T20s and performed decently in the ODIs too.

Middle order woes look settled:

In the ODIs it was the top order that did most of the talking with the bat, while middle order failing to rise to the ocassion, but winning century from young Manish Pandey in the final game boosted the morale of the side. Skipper MS Dhoni's calm knock in Sydney and heroics in the final over, once again established him regain his reputation of being the best match finisher.

Later in the T20 series, return of 'experienced' Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh into the side assured the much needed stability in the middle order. The match winning knock both Yuvraj-Raina played, in the 3rd T20I, not only helped Team India pull off a record chase but also handover Australia, its first ever whitewash in its own backyard.

Middle order woes look settled:

Skipper MS Dhoni too gave a glimpse of his old hitting days during the T20 tournament. MS Dhoni's return of form laid to rest team management's prime concern.

Even presence of big hitters like Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya will only add more teeth to the lower batting order. Also, there is a stiff competition between Manish Pandey and Ajinkya Rahane as, it seems, any one of the two will finally make it to the T20 squad for the World T20 and Asia Cup T20. Presence of any of these exceptionally talented batters will only make the batting order strong.

Bumrah and Nehra have made pace attack disciplined:

Ashish Nehra's return to the Indian squad and induction of young Jasprit Bumrah infused a new life in the ineffective bowling line up. Credit for Team India's phenomenal victory in the T20 tournament goes to sensible bowling from these two pacers.

Bumrah and Nehra have made pace attack disciplined:

Both Bumrah and Nehra impressed everyone with their death over bowling as they kept Australian batters from firing in the slog overs.

But it will be interesting to see who else will get a place in the sqaud, when selectors will announce Team on Feb 5.

Spinners will sizzle on home turf:

Team India's frontline spinner Ravichandra Ashwin and his deputy Ravindra Jadeja performed exceptionally well in the T20 series. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, if given a place in the squad will only make the spin attack more destructive.

Spinners will sizzle on home turf:

Experts are also of the view that the selectors might give chance to some other spinners keeping Indian conditions in mind. Thus, home conditions and turning pitches will help spinners play a crucial role in winning the game. There is no denying the fact that Indian spin attack is most lethal in the world.

Home conditions will favour Team India:

Team India will be enjoying a huge advantage as MS Dhoni & Co would be playing in front of the home crowd. Thus, presence of home support would only make the side only formidable. It was the same Team India under the leadership of MS Dhoni, that had won the 2011 World Cup. This further increases the team's chances of winning the World Cup. Not to forget Team India was the runner-up in previous T20 World Cup and this fact makes Dhoni & Co the favourites.

Winning momentum:

If Men In Blue continue to maintain the winning momentum in the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka as well as in the Asia Cup T20, to be held in Bangladesh, then this side is capable of beating any side and winning this side its second World T20 title. Also, skipper MS Dhoni seems to have regained his winning touch, which is one of the major factors that further cements Team India's position.
