Thanks to Yuvraj's big hundred, Punjab gained a first innings lead of 41 runs on the 4th and final day at PCA Stadium in Mohali. In reply to Gujarat's 467, Punjab were all out for a mammoth 608 in 159.4 overs.

The 33-year-old Yuvraj hit 14 fours and 7 sixes in his 233-ball knock. This was the left-hander's 24th first-class hundred. He had resumed the final day on 85. In last year's Ranji Trophy season, he had scored a hat-trick of centuries.

"I just want to play and enjoy my cricket. If I get an opportunity to come back and play for India, I would look forward to that. But these are the games, which will give me opportunity to come back so I am trying my best," Yuvraj had said last week before Punjab's match against Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium.

He had revealed how batting legend Sachin Tendulkar had advised him to enjoy his cricket.

"It's just that passion to play the game. I was speaking to Sachin last year and he said that, obviously the most important thing is to play for India but don't forget to enjoy the game. As young kids, we always played the game to enjoy it.We never knew (then) that we were going to play for India." he added.

Yuvraj last played for India in April last year, featuring in the ICC World Twenty20 2014 final against Sri Lanka in Dhaka. India lost the match.

The big-hitting Yuvraj has played 40 Tests, 293 ODIs and 40 T20Is for India. Earlier this year, he was bought by Indian Premier League (IPL) team Delhi Daredevils (DD) for a record price of Rs 16 crore.
