Hubli, Jan 7: Karnataka romped to an innings and 30-run victory against Jammu and Kashmir with a day to spare in the Ranji Trophy Group A league fixture, here Wednesday.

Jammu and Kashmir, trailing by 263 runs on the first innings, were all out for 233 as seamers R. Vinay Kumar, Sreenath Aravind and Abhimanyu Mithun picked up three wickets apiece to complete the demolition.

Resuming at their overnight score of 37 for one, the tourists were never really in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular intervals and barring Ian Chauhan (94, 150b, 13x4, 2x6), none of the batsmen were able to collar the Karnataka attack.

Chauhan and opener Adil Reshi (36) added 68 runs for the third wicket, but once the partnership was broken, there was little resistance save a 47-run stand between Chauhan and skipper Parvez Rasool (25) for the fourth wicket.
