New Delhi, Nov 11: Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara on Friday (Nov 11) became the most successful Indian batting pair in Tests in the last 10 years.

The duo stitched a 209-run partnership for the second wicket against England at Rajkot's Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

With yet another century-plus stand, Pujara-Vijay became the first Indian batting pair to complete 2000 runs in the last 10 years.

Both Pujara and Vijay have partnered each other in 32 innings and accumulated 2,080 runs together at an average of 65.03.

Both Pujara and Vijay slammed their respective hundreds against England in the first Test. It was the sixth time that the duo has forged a 100-plus partnership.

With this century, Pujara slammed third Test century against England - the most for him against any opposition. He had hit 206* and 135 in the 2012-13 series before making another in this innings.
