New Delhi, Feb 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today revealed that he is a fan of "Sir" Ravindra Jadeja and like many, he was waiting to see his all-round performances which would take India to World Cup victory.
Jadeja, the all-rounder has earned the tag of "Sir" from fans and it has been in use for couple of years now. Spin legend Shane Warne gave him the nickname "Rockstar". (List of commentators)
Captain MS Dhoni too has called Jadeja "Sir" and had tweeted few jokes during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2013. However, after that, the all-rounder himself had stopped his skipper from further making fun of him on social networking sites.
Now, Modi is the latest to address Jadeja as "Sir", on Twitter. On Thursday he wished the left-handed all-rounder all the best for World Cup.
"Who is not a fan of Sir Jadeja? We all look forward to seeing your all round performances take India to victory! @imjadeja," Modi wrote on his Twitter page.
Modi wished each and every member of the Indian team, via Twitter. He told them to bring the World Cup back.
India, the defending champions, will launch World Cup campaign against Pakistan in Adelaide on February 15 (Sunday). The World Cup concludes on March 29 in Melbourne.
