PHOTOS: Top 5 Test bowlers in latest ICC Rankings; R Ashwin No. 1

Bengaluru, Nov 8: India's star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continues to top the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Test Rankings for bowlers. Ashwin is also the top Test all-rounder.

In the latest updated rankings released on Tuesday (November 8), offspinner Ashwin retained his top spot ahead of South African paceman Dale Steyn.

England's fast bowler James Anderson is at third place followed by Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Rangana Herath. Englishman Stuart Broad completes the top-5 list.

Ashwin, with a career-best 900 rating points, will have a chance to increase the gap between him and Steyn (861 points) as he gears up to face England from tomorrow (November 9) in a five-Test series.

Steyn sustained a shoulder injury during the Perth Test, which concluded yesterday (November 7) and is ruled out of the entire 3-match rubber against Australia.

Ravindra Jadeja is the next highest-ranked Indian, at 7th position. Pakistan's Yasir Shah is at 6th. Australia's Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Neil Wagner (New Zealand) complete the top-10 slots.

Anderson, who is nursing an injury, will miss the opening Test against India starting tomorrow (November 9) in Rajkot. It is still unclear when he will be fit to lay in the 5-match rubber. He is 3rd in ICC Rankings with 853 points.

Rangana Herath

Rangana Herath

Herath, who was recently appointed Test captain of Sri Lanka for Zimbabwe tour, is at 4th place with 832 points.

Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad

Broad is set to play his 100th Test, against India, tomorrow in Rajkot. He has 821 points and is placed 5th.
