London, July 18: After defeating England at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground in the opening Test, Pakistan cricketers celebrated the victory in a unique style here on Sunday (July 18).

After Mohammad Amir bowled Jake Ball, handing England a 75-run-defeat in the first Test, all Pakistani cricketers gathered at the ground and started doing push-ups on the field.

The team's unique gesture was a tribute to Pakistani Army staff, with whom they had a camp before going into the series.

Earlier in the first innings of the Test match, immediately after Misbah-ul-Haq scored his maiden Test ton at Lord's, the Pakistan skipper dropped on the turf and performed 10 push-ups.

When asked about his gesture, which included a salute to the Pakistan flag flying above the Pavilion, Misbah said, "I promised the army guys I would do the push-ups if I got a century."

England, set 283 for victory, were bowled out by Pakistan for 207 in the last session of the fourth day.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah took four for 69 for a match haul of 10 for 141 in his first Test outside of Asia and the United Arab Emirates.
