Melbourne, Feb 23: Every Indian cricket fan wants the team to win ICC World Cup 2015. But there is one supporter from across the border, who too is rooting for India to lift the trophy in Melbourne on March 29.

This fan of Team India is from Karachi and his name is Mohammad Basheer. He is a big fan of captain MS Dhoni and according to him his little daughter will bring him luck.

"I am from Karachi but live in Chicago. My wife Rafia is from Hyderabad (India). I love Dhoni. He is my hero," 62-year-old Bashir told Dubai-based newspaper "Gulf News" in Melbourne.

Bashir is currently in Australia to watch the World Cup. He was seeing sporting "Dhoni I love U' shirt in Melbourne, according to the report.

He runs a restaurant in Chicago. Whenever there are World Cup, World T20 and Champions Trophy matches, he is spotted at venues.

Bashir recalled when Dhoni handed him a match ticket during 2011 World Cup and also gave him a sandwich when he was hungry.

"In 2011 World Cup, I could not get any tickets for any of the matches, so Dhoni gave me a ticket. And once when I was hungry, he passed me a sandwich. He is a gem of a person. I have come to make sure he wins the World Cup. I am sure his new born baby will bring him luck," said Bashir.

Bashir met Dhoni in Melbourne before the South Africa game, which India won yesterday (February 22). On that occasion, Dhoni hugged him and signed his shirt. "Your daughter will bring you luck and you will return with the trophy," Bashir told Dhoni.

In 2014, Dhoni had given Bashir to watch the World T20 final in Bangladesh. And also when India-Pakistan played in a T20I in 2012 in Bengaluru.
