Bengaluru, April 14: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar's long wait ended last night (April 13) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. His wish to play with his idol 'on a big stage' was fulfilled and he was very happy.
On Monday, SRH played against hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and won convincingly, by 8 wickets in Match 8 of IPL 2015.
Bhuvneshwar was happy to have played with his idol - Praveen Kumar. When the right-arm India fast bowler was asked after how long he was playing alongside Praveen, he told IPL's official website, "Oh, after many years."
"I love playing with him and I always wanted to play with him on a big stage. Today my wish was fulfilled. He is my idol and I have learnt a lot from him. Every time I play with him, I learn something and today was no different," he added.
Bhuvneshwar took two wickets while Praveen had one. "It doesn't matter which Kumar gets him (Chris Gayle) as long as we get him out cheaply. We had our plan in place and I am glad it worked," Bhuvneshwar said referring to Chris Gayle's wicket and the success he has had against the tall Jamaican.
Both Bhuvneshwar and Praveen play for the same state side - Uttar Pradesh. Bhuvneshwar is a regular in the Indian team now but Praveen is out of the national reckoning now.
Praveen played his first game for SRH last night after he was bought at this year's auction for Rs 2.2 crores. He was with Mumbai Indians (MI) last season.
