My beard is a lucky charm for India at World Cup: Ravindra Jadeja

Perth, Mar 6: India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja today said his beard is a lucky charm for the team at the ICC World Cup 2015. He will continue to grow it till the tournament is over.

After bowling out West Indies for 182 in 44.2 overs, Jadeja on Friday spoke about his lucky charm which has helped the team string together three wins in a row in Australia.

India opened their World Cup defence with a win over Pakistan and followed that up with convincing victories over South Africa and United Arab Emirates.

At the mid innings break here today at WACA ground, India are set to storm into the quarter-finals with another success over the Caribbean side.

When spin legend Shane Warne asked Jadeja about his beard on TV, the left-hander said, "Firstly, it is a lucky charm."

"We have won three out of three. Secondly, I don't look good without the beard. I will keep it growing," he added.
