New Delhi, Sep 8: With the kind of form he is in, KL Rahul is Team India's new star in the making. The Karnataka batsman's performance in the year 2016 has grabbed the attention of the selectors and cricket experts who see in him a future star.
Having already earned a spot in the Test squad, the 24-year-old right-handed-batsman has shown a lot of potential and impressed all with his performances in just 3 ODI's and 5 T20Is he has played so far.
Rahul is only third Indian batsman to have smashed a century in all three formats of the game, an achievement even Virat Kohli's hasn't achieved.
Even explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle is mighty impressed with Rahul's transformation and feels the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicket-keeper/batter will soon give 'Run Machine' Virat Kohli, a run for his money.
Having played under the leadership of both MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in Test and ODIs, Rahul feels both the captains are great leaders and that Team India is safe in their hands.
Talking about MS Dhoni, in an interview to India Today, Rahul said, "With MS having so much experience behind him he understands what is best for the team. He is obviously the best captain that India or the world has ever seen there is no doubt about that. When he is in the dressing room there is a bit of calm, you know that the captain is doing most of the thinking, he will give you your roles & responsibilities and you just need to go and play them out."
While talking about Virat's captaincy, Rahul feels the Test skipper is more aggressive and inspires team to play aggressively.
"When it comes to Virat he is more energetic & has more passion. He wants the boys to be in the face of the players (opposition), be aggressive on the field and express themselves.
We enjoy playing with both of them as leaders and both of them set great examples for rest of the boys in the team. They are great leaders and the team is in safe hands with both of them as leaders," he added.
