Dhoni changes his Facebook profile picture to support Modi's 'Digital India'

Bengaluru, Sep 28: India's ODI captain MS Dhoni has announced his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Digital India" initiative.

Dhoni, last night (September 27) changed his profile picture on his Facebook account to support "Digital India". The photo shows Dhoni with his little daughter Ziva followed by a message "Support Digital India at fb.com/supportdigitalindia". Skipper Dhoni is currently preparing for South Africa series at home.

Modi, who is in the United States, met the CEOs of Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook and others as he made a strong pitch for "Digital India" in Silicon Valley.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg too had changed his profile photo, supporting "Digital India". The project was launched by Modi on July 1.

"I changed my profile picture to support Digital India, the Indian government's effort to connect rural communities to the internet and give people access to more services online. Looking forward to discussing this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Facebook today," Zuckerberg had written yesterday before he interacted with Modi at Facebook headquarters in California.

On his Facebook page, Modi had thanked Zukerberg for the support. He wrote, "Thanks Mark Zuckerberg for the support. I changed my DP in support of the efforts towards a Digital India. You too can change your DP at fb.com/supportdigitalindia".

"Check if you want to keep this as your profile picture after October 31st. If not, we'll switch it back to your previous one.

"Thanks for showing your support. You're helping transform India into a digitally empowered society."
