Hyderabad, Oct 29: Mohammad Azharuddin, the former Indian skipper and one of the best artists with bat in Indian cricket, is planning to contest in the next election of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).
It has also been learned that Azhar has planned to contest for the post of HCA president. When contacted, Azhar was unwilling to disclose plans in detail and said only, “I am planning to contest in the HCA election. But nothing has been finalized."
It has also been learned that Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has submitted a report very recently and according to the ACB investigation, the whole executive body of HCA lead by Ayub will have to resign from their respective posts.
And Azhar is reportedly waiting for the time when again HCA will have to conduct the election. However, a question may come up whether Azhar, who was alleged of being involved in match-fixing in the past, can contest in any state cricket association's election.
But the question can easily be erased as the former crafty batsman has already been a parliamentarian after winning parliament election.
More importantly, Azharuddin has also won the case of the match-fixing allegation against BCCI. So it should not be difficult for him to contest in HCA election.
And if it happens finally, then after Saurav Ganguly, Indian cricket will have another star who will be sitting on administrator's chair.
