Pandey, who slammed his 2nd century of the series, along with Sanju Samson (87) brought visitors very close to victory.

India A needed just 9 runs in the final over, but Australian pacer Kane Richardson held his nerves and conceded just 7 to ensure the hosts a narrow 1-run victory.

With 3 runs required off 2 balls Sanju Samson took the aerial route and was caught near long off. Jayant Yadav tried to take the two runs off the last ball but was run out while attempting the second run to level the scores.

The two teams will again face off in the final on Sunday (September 4) at the Harrup Park ground.

Earlier, Pandey (110 off 91 balls) stitched crucial partnerships first with Mandeep Singh (56) and later on with Samson to bring visitors close towards finish line. But Pandey's wicket in the 47th over gave Australians an opportunity to bounce back strongly.

India A's hopes of winning the game suffered a major setback when Hardik Pandya (2) was run out in the same over as Pandey's.

Earlier, Kurtis Patterson (115) and Nic Maddinson (118) smashed centuries to help Australia A post 322/6 in 50 overs after India A won the toss and elected to bowl. The duo put up a 229-run stand for the 2nd wicket for hosts.
