South Africa choke Sri Lanka with spin, enter World Cup semi-finals

For the first time in World Cup history, South Africa managed to win a knockout game. The moment arrived at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Wednesday when they cruised to a 9-wicket victory over Sri Lanka to book a spot in the semi-finals of ICC World Cup 2015. (Full text: Sangakkara retires)

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won a crucial toss and opted to bat first. But it was the domination of SA spinners in the first half of the match. Then, SA batters completed the victory with ease. It was a case of chokers choking their opponents today. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 133 and the Proteas won in 18 overs.
