New Delhi, Feb 22: Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal is hurt with constant comparison with India's batting superstar Virat Kohli.
The right-handed batsman from Pakistan has always been praised for his talent and drew comparisons with Kohli, who is hailed as a modern day legend.
Akmal, on the other hand, has failed to live up to the expectations of his fans and country. He and Ahmed Shahzad were hailed by the Pakistani media as future stars but both the youngsters failed to make it big at the global stage.
The 26-year-old cricketer has feels his comparison with Kohli is not just for the latter bats higher in the order while he bats at No. 6.
According to Akmal the comparison between him and Kohli will be equal if he bats at No. 3 while the latter comes in at No. 6.
Akmal was quoted by media reports as saying, that Kohli, since his debut is batting at No.3 and he has been playing at No. 6. The cricketer opined if their batting positions are swapped only then the picture will be clear.
Akmal has played 116 ODIs for Pakistan and scored 3004 runs and slammed just two centuries while Kohli has hit 27 hundred in 179 games.
Kohli has slammed 4 Test doubles batting at No. 4 in the longer format of the game, all of which came in 13 Tests. While Akmal is not a part of the Pakistan squad in Tests.
